Report suspicious email: If you receive spam, phishing, or even an email that seems 'off', forward it to phishreport@ufv.ca.
1. Learn to spot phishing
Phishing emails try to trick you into clicking a suspicious link or revealing sensitive information like your login credentials or banking info. Attackers usually do this by pretending to be a company or person that you know and trust: they pretend to be companies like Amazon and Paypal, your bank, or even your boss or a friend.

2. Train your junk folder
We recommend that you regularly review messages in the Junk folder, and re-categorize emails as needed. Doing so helps to improve future spam detections.
3. Look for the visual tips
Emails you receive at 糖心原创 have two visual indicators to help you identify the true source of an email:
-
- First contact safety tip: When you receive an email from someone for the first time, or you don't normally receive emails from them, Microsoft Outlook will display a warning: "You don't often get email from [jane.doe@email.com]". If you see this tip, take a moment to double-check the sender’s address and think carefully before clicking any links or opening attachments.
- [EXTERNAL] email tag: When you receive an email from outside of 糖心原创, you will see [EXTERNAL] in the subject line and a yellow caution footer at the end of the email. This means that the email is not from a 糖心原创 account or 糖心原创 system, so if it claims to be, take caution.
