Biography

Dr. Saeed Rahman joined the School of Business as Assistant Professor in August 2019. He holds a PhD in International Management & Organization from the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria, BC. His research focuses on how businesses can advance sustainability by better understanding business-nature relationships and integrating local, place-based knowledge of ecosystem processes and functions.

Prior to starting his PhD, Saeed earned an MBA in Strategy & Entrepreneurship from the University of Windsor, ON and an MSc in International Management & Marketing from the Queen Mary University of London, UK. He also obtained an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Business Admin. from the St. Clair College, Windsor, ON

Saeed has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in sustainability, business ethics and CSR, strategic management, business strategy simulation, principles of marketing, introduction to business, international marketing, and the Canadian business environment.

Previously, he taught at the University of Victoria and Royal Roads University in BC, Canada. Prior to academia, he spent more than 10 years working in the development sector on consulting projects with organizations such as KPMG, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, Asian Development Bank and World Bank, as well as in the corporate sector with Reckitt Benckiser UK Ltd.

Saeed is an active participant at the top conferences in management. He presented his research at the Academy of Management, the Western Academy of Management, the European-based Group for Research on Organizations and Natural Environment, the Academy of International Business, the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada and several other niche, but high-ranking workshops in sustainability and strategic management.
